I can’t say how much I love my land here in Umbria on the border with Tuscany, its landscapes, its colours, its fabulous light, however I must admit I have a passion for the sea and the Amalfi Coast is absolutely dazzling. And the people who live there make it even more special. Those fascinating villages set like jewels in the rocks overlooking that fabulous sea are not to be missed. It is without doubt that Sorrento is one of the most popular destinations to celebrate weddings on this dreamlike coastline, the Amalfi Coast. Amalfi Coast weddings are very popular and I’m very glad to have the chance to do my work of wedding videographer in Sorrento!

A wedding in Sorrento with its privileged position in the Amalfi Coast
Today I am happy because Collette and Hiom from England are celebrating their wedding in Sorrento. A wonderful wedding day in this magical place by the sea. Sorrento is one of the most evocative places on the Amalfi Coast and not only for the beauty of its landscape it is also famous for its privileged position on the gulf. It is an excellent starting point to explore the whole coast. For example, it is not far from Pompeii by train and has regular fast ferry connections to Naples and Capri.
The couple is so lucky because by getting married in Sorrento they have the privilege of being able to share so much history and beauty with their relatives and friends.

The ceremony will take place in the presence of the Mayor at the Cloisters of San Francesco located on top of one of the sheer cliffs that characterize the heart of the historic center. From there, a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Sorrento. Hiom awaits the future bride at the exit of the Cloisters. Collette is arriving accompanied by her bridesmaids after getting ready at the Parco del Sole hotel in Sorrento. The ceremony is essential but very, very emotional!

We stop for a while at the cloisters to toast and celebrate the newlyweds while the guests travel by bus to Hotel Mediterraneo for the reception. The photographer and I, with Collette and Hiom, do a tour of Sorrento to immortalize their overflowing happiness and love with videos and photos against the backdrop of this magnificent city and its wonderful seafront. We arrive at the Mediterraneo hotel where the guests are waiting for Collette and Hiom to celebrate them upon their arrival. The bride and groom enter by car from the main gate overlooking the Orange grove and everyone is happy. It is finally time for an aperitif and to chill out.

The wedding reception at Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento
At 3.30 pm we go up to the hotel “Vesuvio restaurant” for the wedding gala meal. Before dinner, there are the speeches. The hotel restaurant has beautiful terraces overlooking the sea and so, between one course and the other, guests and newlyweds can enjoy the view while being caressed by the fragrant sea breeze coming from the Gulf of Sorrento.
Between 6.30 and 7.00 the party moves to the hotel’s Sky Bar. Basically we are on the rooftop of the prestigious 5-star hotel from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view! You can see Vesuvius, Naples and most of the coast perfectlyl! The golden hour begins at this time in mid-September, so we can film our fantastic couple with the sunset over the sea!!! A spectacular light!
But not only that, Collette and Hiom choose to cut the cake right there and then, so that moment too takes place illuminated by that wonderful light. Guests warmly celebrate the bride and groom during the cut of the cake, bewitched by that splendid atmosphere. When the sun goes down the party begins with the DJ and Collette and Hiom start the dance with their sensual, passionate, first dance. What a show!! a memorable day. Again my best wishes guys!!
